A bloody knife. Source |
"AHHHHHH" was heard all throughout the entire women's locker room and the gym. Girls running, screaming, and blood was on Gracie's hands. Gracie was obviously the suspected killer. She was the last person to see Jennifer alive and she literally had her blood on her hands. Gracie panicked and ran as well but was caught and cuffed before she could fully understand what had happened.
The day seemed like a normal one, Gracie rode to school with her boyfriend Kyle, ate lunch with her friends, and was on her way to cheer practice. But not before she accidentally ran into a group of kids that Gracie would never hang out with. "Watch out slut" a girl with dark hair and bright eyes rimmed with dark eyeliner yelled. Gracie apologized over and over. The girl who yelled was named Allie, and Allie and Gracie had a past. They were once friends but ended when Gracie became a cheerleader. Allie never forgave Gracie for changing her friends.
The day before Gracie had a bad day. Everything for her was going wrong. She argued with the co captain, she forgot her homework, and was sent to the office for her outfit being to "revealing." The day of murder things were better until then.
Gracie begged for someone to prove she was innocent as she was dragged into the police car. A day later, Gracie woke up in her holding cell next to Allie and the co captain Meredith of the cheer team. In shock Gracie asks how they got there. The other 2 girls were also suspected of being the murderer.
The knife that was used was found in Allie's locker but Meredith had a motive to pin this murder on Gracie. Meredith was the one of the only people to hate Gracie. She wanted her cheer spot as captain. Allie doesn't know how the knife got in her locker. She opened it after school for it to fall on the floor in front of everyone.
No one suspected the killer. It felt like a slap to the face for the entire community. A girl who is innocent is dead because one person wanted them to be dead. Finger prints were found on the knife. 3 pairs. But only 2 of them belong to the 3 sitting in the cell. Clearly there is another person who is not in the cell that should be.
An overheard conversation in the boys locker room reveals who the killer is. It turns out the victim was the wrong person. The murder went into the locker with one person in mind. They saw who they thought was the intended victim. They stabbed the knife over and over, when Gracie walked in to witness it. The killer had on a mask and was in all black. The killer jumped when Gracie screamed, Gracie tried to wrestle the knife away, but ended up being covered in blood. The knife and the murder disappeared. The murder saw an open locker and threw the knife in there. Meredith was still fuming from her fight with Gracie the day before and Allie was bitter about her new popularity.
The girls were discussing the situation when the jail doors flew open and their jaws dropped to see none other than Kyle being brought in restrained in hand cuffs. Kyle was kicking and screaming "IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE YOU" at Gracie. Gracie confused as to what was going on, heard Kyle yelling that she was supposed to be the one killed because he couldn't handle having her as a girlfriend anymore. The girls were released but Gracie was still unsure what Kyle couldn't handle about their relationship. She was just happy to see herself as free again but sad to know someone had died because of her..
Author's Note: This was easily the most unusual story I have written yet. I took the story of The Queen Bee. In this story a dwarf sets out into the world to find his 2 older brothers. The 3 set out and are taken to castle where they are tested to find hidden pearls. The 2 older brothers tried to cause destruction while on their journey. The king of the castle makes the one who wins the challenge do another challenge before he can wed his daughter. They have to figure out which one is the youngest to marry. My story was a huge stretch of what the original was. My story was inspired by the part of the original story that the winner of the challenge had to figure out which of the daughters was the youngest. In mine they had to figure out which if any of the girls had murdered the girl in the locker room. I decided to take a turn with my writing and try something new. I have written lots of good cookie cutter endings. I just like the mystery of this one.

Great story! It definitely kept my interest the entire time. You broke up the paragraphs in a way that made it flow well and made it easy to read. The only thing I caught was that you used the word 'to' instead of 'too' at the end of the fourth paragraph.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this story! Your writing style is so creative. I definitely didn't see it coming that Kyle did it...just because he didn't want to be with Gracie anymore! Great job!
